  1. ILO/Aoyama Gakuin University Lecture Series 2009: Child Labour (1)

    For the second year the ILO and Aoyama Gakuin University are co-organising a series of lectures around the theme of Decent Work. A series of 13 lectures is planned between 24 September 2009 and 14 January 2010. Each of the 90 minute lectures will be given by a distinguished expert in the field, drawn from the ILO's HQ in Geneva, from the ILO's Regional Headquarters in Bangkok, or in Japan. The aim of the lecture series is to encourage recognition of the ILO's activities in the world of work, to increase understanding of international labour-related problems, and to strengthen the relationship between the ILO and academia.

    The National Workshop will discuss the findings and recommendations of these studies, the feedbacks of which will be incorporated into the final publication.

    This report examines Fiji’s compliance with the International Labour Organization’s (“ILO”) Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No.138) (“ILO Convention No. 138”) and ILO Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182) (“ILO Convention No. 182.”).

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) works with local partners to combat child labour in the country through a US Government-funded project that looks at improving information management, consolidating partnerships, developing models and sustaining efforts to withdraw and prevent children from working.

  4. International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC): Towards a child-labour free Philippines: Project fact sheet

    The ILO-IPEC commits to help in reducing the cases of child labour. This ILO Programme assumes responsibility of giving direct services to 9,350 children involved in child labour in the Philippines.

August 2009

  1. Agreement signing ceremony between Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) and NGOs to implement child labour programmes under the ILO-DCC Action Program on Child Labour

    Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) has signed an agreement with five national NGOs namely, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Resource Integration Center, Nari Moitree, Center for Development Services and Population Services and Training Center under the ILO-DCC Action Program on Child Labour. The signing ceremony was held on 20 August 2009 at the Dhalpur Community Center of DCC.
