GENEVA (ILO News) – Among the items on the agenda are the possible amendment of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998, to include safe and healthy working conditions.

An initial discussion on apprenticeships will take place, with a view to the possible creation of a new international labour standard.

Committees will also discuss decent work and the social and solidarity economy, and the strategic objective of employment as part of the follow-up mechanism of the ILO Declaration on Social Justice for a Fair Globalization.

The Committee for the Application of Standards will discuss 22 country cases.

Journalists wanting access to the committees should send a request to communication@ilo.org. The request will then be sent to the committee Chair for their approval. Filming or photography will not be possible in the Committee for the Application of Standards.

Plenary sittings will be held between 6 and 11 June. The high-level World of Work Summit will take place on 10 June.

The media will be able to watch the proceedings of plenary sittings online or from the gallery of Room XX.

Selected photographers can be granted access to the floor of Room XX upon request to communication@ilo.org / +4179/593-1494. They will be met and escorted into the room and escorted out again. Photographs of the Conference are available for download from the ILO’s Flickr pages.

Because of space limitations, video crews that are not part of delegations, including Palais crews, will not be able to access the floor of Room XX. Footage from all the plenary sittings will be available on the ILO streaming platform shortly after they end, along with downloadable footage of the speeches.
