Food Garnishing Arts Workshop Held at SADA Women’s Cooperative

A food garnishing arts workshop was held at SADA Women’s Cooperative established under the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls” funded by the European Union and Government of Japan, implemented by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality (GMM) and Association for Solidarity with Asylum-Seekers and Migrants (ASAM) as implementing partners.

Held at the kitchen workshop of SADA Women’s Cooperative on 23-27 September 2019, the workshop had as its guest instructor Mr. Haşim Demirtaş, an experience chef in food garnishing arts. An author of various books on food garnishing arts, Mr. Demirtaş delivered hands-on training to members of SADA Women’s Cooperative on presentation, display and garnishing of kitchen products.







Starting to work on various moulding materials for decoration, participants then made various adornments and garnishing on butter, margarine, vegetables and fruits. They displayed their works to other members of the Cooperative on Friday with the participation of Mr. Demirtaş. Participants successfully completed that the kitchen workshop which they found very instructive and entertaining.
