International Labour Organization (ILO) And Labor and Social Security Training and Research Center (ÇASGEM) Joined Forces for Improving Labour Market Skills of Syrians

On 19 January 2018, the cooperation protocol that aims to develop the skills in working life and support the institutional capacity to increase the employability of the Syrians under temporary protection and the host communities is signed between International Labour Organization (ILO) and Labor and Social Security Training and Research Center (ÇASGEM).

The protocol is signed with the participation of the directors and experts from ÇASGEM and ILO; on behalf of ILO, Director of ILO Office for Turkey Mr. Numan Özcan, on behalf of ÇASGEM, the President Mr. Abdürrahim Şenocak signed the protocol.

Under the scope of the protocol, primarily, it is aimed to develop and implement “basic labour market skills” seminars to facilitate Syrians’ and host communities’ access to decent work opportunities and livelihoods. These seminars will support the vocational and technical education aiming to raise the awareness on the labour and social security rights, occupational health and security, public employment services and develop the skills on job seeking technics.

In addition to this, it is also planned to organize capacity building training and seminars to support the capacity of the public institutions on national and local level for labour migration management and refugees’ access to the labour market.
