ILO and Mauritius sign MoU to implement new DWCP

The ILO, the Government and the social partners of Mauritius signed in Port Louis a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement the new Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP).

The ILO, the Government and the social partners of Mauritius signed in Port Louis a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement the new Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP). Mr. Shakeel Mohamed, Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, Mr. Charles Dan, ILO Regional Director for Africa as well as representatives of the Mauritius Employers' Federation and the Confederation of Mauritius' workers attended the official ceremony.

The DWCP for Mauritius has identified three priorities areas for 2012 - 2014: Job creation and job quality, including the provision of adequate social protection, (ii) Strengthening of social dialogue, (iii) Mainstreaming gender and elimination of all forms of discrimination. The ILO will provide technical support for the effective implementation of the DWCP.
