Forum on Research for Economy, Innovation and Employment in Madagascar

The Third edition of the Madagascar Forum on Research for Economy, Innovation and Employment will be held from 19-20 October 2016 at the University of Antananarivo.

ABIDJAN/ANTANANARIVO (ILO News) – The Antananarivo University (AU), Groupement des Entreprises de Madagascar (GEM), Fivondronan'ny Mpandraharaha Malagasy (FIVMPAMA), in collaboration with the International Labour Office (ILO), are to organize the 3rd edition of the Forum of Research for Economy and Employment.

The Forum will be held from 20-21 October 2016 at the University of Antananarivo. The opening ceremony will take place on October 20, 2016 at 9:30 am in the presence of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the ILO, and other major stakeholders working in the key sectors of research and innovation.

The three-day event’s main objective is to promote decent employment through innovation generated by research. It will mobilize higher education institutions, institutes and research centres, the private sector, civil society, students, workers and other stakeholders from the world of research.

The Forum provides a platform to create employment opportunities; to inspire and educate young people to get involved in the research domain; to provide researchers with a framework to disseminate and promote the results of their research; to encourage technology transfer; and to strengthen the synergy of actions to contribute to the overall social, economic, environmental and cultural development and enhance the visibility of universities, research centres and companies in all sectors.

This 3rd edition will also be highlighted through the presentation of a special award to be attributed to a company which will have demonstrated dynamism, innovation and commitment to job creation.
