ILO Country Office Abuja and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity jointly organized a 2 day workshop for senior labour officers and private employment agencies (PEA). The PEAs came as an association under the umbrella body known as Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria (HuCaPAN).

The workshop highlighted the necessity for PEAs and the Ministry of Labour and Productivity to develop measures for collaboration and support each other in order to provide better services to job seekers and employers and also to provide much needed labour market information on all employment activities in the country. It was also imperative that the Ministry developed a synergy with its core stakeholders in employment generation to enable them remain steps ahead of the traffickers and smugglers in persons and the workshop would provide the platform for such synergy. The workshop was organized under the European Union funded ‘Enhancing the Cooperation to fight Trafficking in Human Beings from Nigeria to Europe (ECTIP) project’
