The AU revised Migration Policy Framework (MPFA 2018-2030) and Plan of Action were adopted in 2018. It reflects the current migration dynamics in Africa, and offers a revised strategic framework to guide AU Member States and RECs in the management of migration. It provides comprehensive and integrated policy guidelines to AU Member States and RECs to take into consideration in their endeavours to promote migration and development and address migration challenges on the continent. Labour migration is on of the nine thematic areas of the MPFA. Others include: Border Management; Irregular Migration; Forced Displacement; Human Rights of Migrants; Internal Migration; Migration Data Management; Migration and Development; and Inter-State co-operation and partnerships.
