Global Union Research Network (GURN)

When: 06 July 2009

The Global Union Research Network (GURN)is a multi-faceted communication and exchange platform for trade unionists and researchers who are responding to the challenges of globalization by pursuing strategic research.

This network, active since 2004,is supported and coordinated by a small secretariat provided by the ILO’s Bureau for Workers’ Activities(ACTRAV),in cooperation with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC),the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD(TUAC),the Global Union Federations (GUFs). Currently, the ITUC, TUAC and ILO/ACTRAV form the steering committee of the GURN.

The coordination function is usefully located within ACTRAV as the network has now become an active interface between the research and practical activities of the department and trade unionists and labour oriented researchers around the world. This interaction facilitates and enhances GURN projects such as an ongoing publication series (Discussion papers and Information briefs),an email communications network, a growing GURN website, and research oriented workshops.

If you want to participate in the Global Union Research Network please contact the network coordinator:
