Post-2015 Development agenda

Introductory statement

The fight against poverty and the quest for social justice are central concerns of the ILO and of trade unions. The Declaration of Philadelphia reaffirms the fundamental principles upon which the ILO is based notably: that labour is not a commodity; that freedom of association is essential to sustained progress; that poverty anywhere constitutes a danger to prosperity everywhere; and the need to wage a war against want with unrelenting vigour within each nation and by concerted international effort.

ACTRAV supports trade union efforts to participate effectively in national poverty reduction strategies, to contribute to achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals, and to engage in the process to develop the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
