Small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
The mandate of all Employer and Business Membership Organizations (EBMOs) is to represent and support the interests of its members including large-, medium- or small-sized enterprises. Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make substantial contributions to national economies, and make up a significant proportion of enterprises and employment. SMEs often face a unique set of challenges and concerns. EMBOs need to ensure that the views of SMEs are represented. In addition, EBMOs can offer training and support to SMEs to ensure they remain viable and sustainable as well as continue to create employment.
